Thomson Group Initiative

Thomson Group was established in 1986 as a family concern in South India, with offices at Trivandrum and Cochin and are involved in building material trading. Now in 2018, the group has established a base in Vizhinjam port to engage in the fields of trading, branding, manufacturing, construction and in service sectors with an aggregate annual turnover exceeding 50 million US$ and having a workforce of 750 plus employees.

Keeping in view the commencement of the Vizhinjam port which is strategically located connecting West Asia and South East Asia, the Group is to extending our services to companies in the maritime field worldwide to start up their infrastructure in and around the Vizhinjam. The port is to commence its activities by the year 2018-2019.

About Vizhinjam Port

The port is owned by the Govt. of Kerala in joint venture with M/s. Adani Vizhinjam Port Pvt. Ltd. This port aims to cater to large vessels with a capacity of 18000 TEU and consists of 2000 meters of container berth with a drought of 24 meters depth and is at a distance of only 10 nautical miles from the International Shipping Lane. The commencement of this project shall boost regional import-export drastically by 2020. Procurement of land, building and
yard in Vizhinjam area is cheap and easily available when compared to any other part of the world.
